The pin allows you to compensate for the broken side panels, which cause the canopy to fall downward, revealing the contents from outside the car.

Once the canopy is taut, the pins can be inserted, which raises the canopy and holds it in the covered position.

With damaged panels but spontaneously retaining the hat box, operation is guaranteed.

With very damaged panels that do not spontaneously hold the hat box in place, the pins might work but it is not guaranteed (contact me privately to work out a solution together).

Solved very annoying problem with Q3s and other Audis which is the breakage of the supports on the sides (replacing them costs an arm and a leg) that hold the trunk curtain, causing the curtain to drop down and allowing some ill-intentioned person to look at the contents of your car.
